Zanalo Holdings provides services for a complete mining operation. Our services include drilling, blasting and load and haul. We mainly use excavators and haul trucks; however, we are easily adaptable to our clients’ requirements.

At Zanalo Holdings, we provide the service of moving any material on the mine site. This includes, but is not limited to, moving discard from the plant to the dumps, moving topsoil to designated topsoil stockpiles, quality management that involves moving various products to pre-determined quality stockpiles, moving ready-to-ship product from stockpile beds to the load bin for the railway loop.

We provide rehabilitation and reclamation services. These include shaping dumps to design, bringing back topsoil and vegetation. We also reclaim any waste and move it to approved waste disposal sites.

We assist operations by doing an initial audit of the safety systems that the company has in place. This audit tells us and the client what they have in place and where that are gaps that need to be addressed. Our intent is to take your safety systems to the next level. We aim to ensure that your site complies with the MHSA and accidents are prevented.

Below are the areas we look at during our audits:
• The value chain
• Hazards and risks associated with each component of the value chain
• All tasks and critical / high-risk tasks
• Baseline Risk Assessment
• Issue-Based Risk Assessments
• Legal Appointments
• Recording of incidents and accidents
• Recording of injuries and illnesses
• Emergency Preparedness
• Housekeeping
• Management of hazardous materials

After the audit results have been complied, areas of concern will be identified. It is of utmost important to note that ay operation that runs without knowing the sources of risk is heading for a disaster. Risk assessment is the first step before anything can be done. We work together with your team to identify the risks that are inherent in the operation. We come up with controls that are required to eliminate the risk where possible. If risk cannot be eliminated, we put controls in place to minimize exposure of the people. When all has been done and people still have to work where the risk exists, we recommend protective equipment and clothing that can be use. The final product is a risk assessment that is a living document that requires to be reviewed periodically.

After conducting a risk assessment for each task, we draft safe work procedures (SWPs) that are based on all risks that were identified. To ensure continuous risk assessment, a planned task observation document is compiled each SWP. Together with your team, we compile and deliver COPs that are aligned with the guidelines.

A thorough accident investigation is vital in preventing future injuries, as required by Federal the MHSA. Incidents, including injuries, exposures, near-misses, environmental releases, or property damage cases are unfortunate. These events are also major opportunities for growth and learning. Companies and businesses that do not take advantage of these events are often prone to repeat the same mistakes that led to the incident to begin with. This is what we achieve in an investigation:

• Lead during the incident investigation.
• Ensure fairness and calmness throughout the process.
• Get to the root cause of the incident, no matter who is at fault. We go where your employees wouldn’t go.
• Come up with most practical and effective corrective actions and preventative measures.

All successful businesses are where they are because employees understand the importance of their roles within the organizations. In the mining environment, safety is of higher priority that production. That makes it important that all employees that carry responsibilities understand the impact their negligence may have on the business. Legally appointed personnel need to always be aware of risks to safety, health and business performance.

We train legally appointed personnel on the requirements of the applicable legislation. The importance of each legal appointment in the organogram is made clear for everyone to understand how there are all linked. The purpose is to empower each person and make them understand that when they walk past unsafe acts by others, they endorse the bad behaviour. They need to know that all legal appointments link to the highest appointment in the hierarchy and the responsibility is shared equally.
